Varli Painting

The three main tribes in the region are Kunkna, Warli, and Koyda. Traditional Warli painting is quite well known. Like most other traditional art form inthis modern age, Warli painting too is notto be found in any of the Warli villages. Trust has decided to encourage and preserve this heritage art.

Pandu, a native of Khadki, has painting in his blood. He attempted to pursue a diploma in engineering, but his heart was not in it. He did, however, complete an art teacher diploma, which helped to hone his natural skills. After discovering Pandu and his formidable skills and passion, we encouraged him in his pursuits. He now teaches at the Khadki school, training underprivileged boys and girls to create Warli Paintings. Two of his students have emerged as skilled painters and to ensure their ability to work at home.We are creating and selling cards, handkerchiefs, table mats and other materials created bythem.
