PROHIBITION OF ALCOHOL

Alcohol has for a longtime been the traditional vice of the Adivasi community, Since many years, we have been conducting our check dams, levelling and other acivities only inthose villages who take a pledge ” No alcohol will be produced in our village ” In this manner, the entire village is voluntarily become alcohol free. About 25 villages in our area taken upthis pledge.

FOREST-LAND RIGHTS

Education of the Adivasi people as to their rightful benefits under the Adivasi Forest Right Law is a constant effort. Workers were trained in the techniques of measuring land, implementing laws related to use of land and drafting resolutions in Gramsabhas.

GANDHI KATHA – FIVE DAYS DISCOURSE ON GANDHI

Five day discourse on Gandhi: After Gandhi’s assassination, Vinobaji christened his work, “Sarvodaya, the uplift of all.” While even the Adivasi people know us as the Sarvodaya people, they are unfamiliar with Gandhi’s life and teachings.

Shri Narayanbhai Desai has traveled the world spreading the word of Gandhi. We requested him to come to this region. Over 200 local people came to the Khadki center, spending 5 days listening in rapt attention to the stories of Gandhi’s life and work, bringing the spirit of Gandhi alive.
